Review: “Crossroads” by Jenna Greene

March 3, 2010
By

Artist: Jenna Greene
Album: Crossroads
Year Produced: 2007

If you love faerie creatures, magic and myths coupled with a voice that is otherworldly, this CD is for you. Jenna Greene spins a web of fanciful things as she takes listeners through the tracks on this album. Her pretty voice is a joy in and of itself, but she also has a nice backdrop of accompaniment that joins her here as well. It’s nice because the music is definitely present, but it doesn’t overpower her lovely voice. In other words, things are as they should be.

This singer/songwriter takes listeners into her world as she sings about love and legends. Songs such as Lady Moon and Dance With Me show a range that is delightful–from soulful to perky. Tracks on the album stay true to a Celtic feel, but they also tip their hat to new age music as well, without being overly experimental.

This is a fine listen for those who appreciate a woman’s voice that can be at times strong, and at other moments soft as a whisper. Greene has an excellent range and a full, bright voice that she can command at will. An enjoyable CD, this is one to invest in. While away an hour or so and just drink in the magic. You’ll feel refreshed.
