Pints Gone Mid-West's
Scottish power-houseIf
you are not familiar with them, then it is about time you were. The band is currently
composed of three people: Bill Massino, Kathleen Mullaly Masino, and Colin O'Brien.
They
perform Celtic traditional-style folk songs. Bill sings lead vocals with a very
impassioned voice. He has a heart for patriotic and rebel songs from Ireland and
Scotland and the storytelling ability of a scholar. Kathleen is Bill's charming
and beautiful wife who has her own passionate, rich voice that fills many of the
bands harmonies. Colin backs those two amazing voices with his incredible ability
on the guitar.
I got their latest
album "The Beaches of St. Valery" at the beginning of Kansas City Renaissance
Festival and am still listening to it with joy. This is an amazing CD of hero
stories & the strong emotions of battle. The music is passionate and touching,
beautiful and pure.
This
album is the kind of album that make you feel for Ireland and Scotland. And you
can now download some of the fantastic tracks from the album. 3
